Mission & Community Interest Statement

Mission Statement

UK PMU Conference – Community Commitment

At the UK PMU Conference, our mission is to empower and elevate the Permanent Makeup (PMU) community through education, innovation, and collaboration.

We are dedicated to fostering a supportive and inspiring environment where PMU professionals can share knowledge, develop new skills, and connect with others who are passionate about excellence in their craft.

Our Commitment to Community Benefit

Although registered as a Limited Company, the UK PMU Conference pledges to operate on a not-for-profit basis, following the same principles as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

This means that any surplus generated from our events will be reinvested into:

  • Educational initiatives and workshops

  • Future conferences and community projects

  • Charitable or social causes that align with our mission

Through this commitment, we ensure that every pound raised directly benefits the PMU community and contributes to the long-term development of our industry.

Our Voluntary Asset Lock

We operate under a voluntary asset lock, ensuring that all company assets and surpluses are used solely for community benefit.
No profits are distributed to shareholders or directors.

This safeguard demonstrates our accountability and commitment to reinvesting in the growth and empowerment of PMU professionals.

Remuneration and Fair Pay

The UK PMU Conference operates on a not-for-profit basis, with income generated solely through ticket sales and sponsorship.

As such, we do not maintain a standard payroll structure. Instead, all payments to staff, contractors, and directors are made once the event has concluded and core operational costs have been covered.

Remuneration is:

  • Fair and proportionate to the work delivered

  • Below or in line with industry norms

  • Transparent, reflecting our not-for-profit pledge

This approach ensures that community benefit remains at the heart of all financial decisions.

Our priority is to deliver exceptional, educational events while reinvesting the majority of any surplus into future conferences, workshops, and initiatives that advance the PMU industry and support professional development.

Transparency and Accountability

We are committed to producing an annual Community Impact Report, inspired by the CIC model, to demonstrate how our activities have benefited the Permanent Makeup community.
This report will include:

  • A description of our activities and community impact

  • Details of remuneration and expenditure

  • Stakeholder consultation and resulting actions

  • Information on any asset transfers made for community benefit

  • Financial transparency showing how surpluses are reinvested

The report will be published on our website for public access and sponsor reference.

Supporting the Community and Beyond

We proudly support artists and educators who align with our values, offering discounted or complimentary sponsorships and promoting charitable causes that inspire inclusion and growth.
Our events are made possible through the generous support of sponsors, partners, and volunteers who share our vision of continuous learning, professional development, and positive social impact.

Together, we are building a legacy of empowerment, innovation, and community enrichment, improving the lives of PMU artists and the clients they serve.
