What is the UK PMU Conference all about?

Established in 2016 the UK PMU Conference was an initiative founded by renowned Permanent Makeup Artist and Masterclass host Theresa Wild. With an award-winning salon and successful clinic in her own right, Theresa had over the years attended numerous international conferences and wanted to create an event which welcomed global trainers to the UK, whilst providing a unique opportunity for the next generation of technicians to come together once a year to share their experiences, expand their industry connections and have the opportunity to meet highly acclaimed Micropigmentation Artists on a one to one.

The UK PMU Conference is a 2-day multi-branded event with interactive participation. In addition to showcasing some of the latest technologies and techniques on the market, there will also be the opportunity for delegates to talk to experts in the field of communications and PR who will be on-site throughout the conference to provide complementary advice regarding brand development.

In 2022 the UK PMU Conference was handed over to Alice Kingdom, who works with her team of dedicated industry pros who collectively ensure that you have an experience that exceeds expectations.


What makes this event different?

We are an incorporation of everything you may find at an expo, conference, masterclass and awards! Alongside the chance to see some of your favourite artists from around the globe share their techniques, we are a fully immersive experience that will have live workshops where PMU artists (beginner, intermediate or advanced) can receive hands-on training & learning from master trainers. These workshops are free of charge but will need to be registered for them.

Not only is there a wealth of knowledge about the skill of your techniques, but we will also bring you business leaders that can strengthen your business strategy, well after the event has finished.


What are the main differences between the tickets? 

There are 5 ticket types available.

Gala Dinner Only - This grants you access to our gala dinner, awards and evening entertainment…a fabulous evening is had by all, year on year!

Friday or Saturday Day Pass - A brilliant way to have a taste of the event. These tickets grant you access to the day’s events only. They do not give you access to the aftershow networking party on Friday, nor the gala dinner and awards on Saturday.

2 Day Pass - Most Popular - This gives you access to everything!! The full 2 days, workshops, the canape networking party, and the gala dinner and awards. It is the most popular option.

2 Day Pass - VIP - Everything in the 2 day pass, but a little bit pimped! Preferential seating at the conference, additional items in your goodie bags, and additional chances to win giveaways and prizes.

I’ve not been before - can I come alone?

YES! Many artists in the industry work alone, and so many attend as individuals. We are really proud as an event of the friendships that have been built between artists that attend. Some artists choose to bring their partners to the gala dinner - this is one of the reasons we have this as a separate ticket option.

If you are attending alone, please let us know and we can “buddy” you up with someone. We can guarantee that you will not feel like a spare part!


Tell me more about the gala dinner and awards

The gala dinner and awards are held on the second and last night of the event. They celebrate the hard work and success of Permanent Makeup Artists and Cosmetic Tattoo Technicians who have excelled in producing consistently outstanding PMU treatments and setting high levels of service standards, whilst adhering to industry codes of conduct and safety in micro-pigmentation.

Set yourself apart from your competition and show clients why they should choose YOU! All of our finalists receive a bespoke finalist title and an official certificate to print, frame and display in the workspace. Now that’s something to be proud of and shout about!


How do the awards work?

The UK PMU Conference Awards are open to artists regardless of nationality, who currently live and work in the UK. You can read more about our awards how they work and how to appy here


What skill level is required to attend?

All levels are catered for. If you are a complete beginner, or a master in your own right there will be something to indulge you. We do suggest that those who get the most from the event are those that have already undertaken some form of basic training.


How will the workshops be structured?

There will be a number of live, hands-on workshops to take part in. This may include things like having a go at Aerola on a breast mould, learning magnum shading techniques, doing a fine-line tattoo, or having an audit of your business structure.

There will be many workshops happening at the same time so that we can cover as many topics as possible. These will be registered for at the beginning of each day and will be subject to availability.


Do I need to bring my machine?

We would recommend it! Bringing your machine allows you to work alongside our masters as they show you techniques. Some of the workshops will require machines, which we will supply in limited numbers, so please bring your won to avoid disapointment. Latex, pigment and other items will be provided.


Where is the UK PMU Conference taking place? & where can I stay?

We will be in London, Hilton T4 Heathrow. This is an ideal location if you’re travelling to the UK, as it is right next to the airport! It is also a short commute from central London if you are travelling from elsewhere in the UK.

The Hilton is the most convenient place to stay, but you will find a range of hotels to suit all budgets very nearby. You can see a few we have picked here:


What is the schedule for the event? Do I have to be there at a certain time?

We've structured the entire event so that you can make the most out of your experience over the span of 2 days and 2 nights. The exact schedule is subject to change. You can view the agenda here

Please arrive on time on both days to get the best from your experience and to enable you to register for the days workshops.



Tell me more about the canape networking event?

What better way to end our first day, than with a glass of bubbles and a few canapes, whilst getting to know your fellow attendees? We think this will be a marvellous addition to this year’s event! With a choice of hotels and restaurants nearby, after the event you are free to enjoy the rest of your evening and to prepare yourself for the following day!


Will we receive certificates for this event?

Yes! All attendees will be given a certificate of attendance for the event!


Who will be all of the trainers, sponsors & vendors?

Can I attend this event virtually if I cannot be there in person?

This is a LIVE event. Unfortunately, we do not feel at this time that we are able to give the best experience to virtual attendees, so this is an in-person event only.


I purchased a ticket and I have to cancel. Can I get a refund?

No, unfortunately, we cannot offer any refunds. All event ticket sales are final. If you are unable to attend, we are happy for you to transfer the ticket to someone else. Please let us know so that we can chance names accordingly.



What is the safety/covid policy?

Currently, there are no Covid restrictions in the UK. This is subject to change and any updates will be communicated.
